NEW SONG NASHVILLE APOSTOLIC COUNCIL

The Apostolic Council is one of the governing bodies that helps to oversee the spiritual direction and health of New Song Nashville. The following leaders are members of our Apostolic Council.

Dr. David Shibley is the founder and international representative of Global Advance, a ministry that equips tens of thousands of church and business leaders every year in many of the world’s neediest areas. Called to a preaching ministry as a teenager in 1966, David has ministered throughout America and in 55 nations. He has pastored churches in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. He is the speaker for the syndicated broadcast, WorldWatch with David Shibley. David is the author of numerous articles and 22 books including the missions classics, A Force in the Earth and The Missions Addiction. He is a graduate of John Brown University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and holds an honorary doctorate from Oral Roberts University. David and Naomi have been married since 1972. They have two married sons and four grandchildren.

Pastor Gil Dirmann is the senior pastor of Lakeshore Christian Fellowship, with campuses in North and South Carolina. Pastor Gil began pastoring at Lakeshore Christian Fellowship in July 2003 with over 18 years of hands-on ministry experience and expertise, including his role as V.P. of Development at Life Pacific University. He studied Theology and General Church Studies at Life Pacific University, and Organizational Leadership at Azusa University. Joined by his wife, Debbie, and their three children, Brandon, Brittany and Breanna, Pastor Gil’s heart is for the church to grow in a closer relationship with Jesus Christ, become grounded in the Word of God, and reach out to those in their surrounding areas.

Dr. Rice Broocks is cofounder of the Every Nation family of churches, which currently has churches and campus ministries in more than seventy nations. He is also the senior minister of Bethel World Outreach Church in Nashville, Tennessee, a multiethnic, multisite church. Rice is a graduate of Mississippi State University and holds a master’s degree from Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, Mississippi, as well as a doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California. The author of several books, including GOD’S NOT DEAD: Evidence for God in An Age Of Uncertainty, MAN MYTH MESSIAH: Answering History’s Greatest Question, THE HUMAN RIGHT: To Know Jesus Christ and to Make Him Known, THE PURPLE BOOK: Biblical Foundations for Building Strong Disciples and EVERY NATION IN OUR GENERATION.

Rice lives in Franklin, Tennessee, with his wife, Jody, and their five children.
