Praise: Our Passion for Praise

Day 43 // May 28

“Praise focuses our hearts on God. Praise lifts our hearts to God in adoration, worship, and love. Passionate praise focuses our entire being on God.” Wesley L. Duewel

I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts. I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works.Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness(Psalm 145).

Prayer Target
Let’s pray this together:
Father, through praise today, we focus our hearts on You in adoration, worship and love. Help us to live every day to bless Your holy name above every other name so that we would give to You all the praise and honor that You are due. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised! We meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and we declare your mighty acts from one generation to another. Let Your praise always be on our lips. Amen!

Honor: The Honoring of Our Leaders from God

Day 42 // May 27

“Honor enables us to see things from God’s perspective; when we see God rightly, we see everything and everyone else rightly. Honor enables us to step into the vision of others and see what they’re seeing. Honor helps us measure the treasure that is in others and receive the riches of the grace that are in them.” Dale Evrist

And we urge you, brethren, to recognize those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves(1 Thessalonians 5:12-13).

Prayer Target
Let’s take some time today to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any place where we have dishonored God or any of the leaders that He has placed in our lives. As He shows us these areas, let’s repent and ask Him to forgive us of these wrong actions and attitudes. And let’s also ask the Lord if He would desire for us to go to anyone and ask them for forgiveness in person. Let’s make a fresh covenant and commit to the Lord to honor Him and all the leaders that God has given us in the body of Christ. Father, help us measure the treasure you have put in each of your children so that we can receive the riches of grace that are in them.

Honor: The Believer’s Family of Honor in God

Day 41 // May 26

“When we can honor the God-given gifts placed inside of others, we can see more clearly what He is doing on the earth.” Bill Johnson

Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another(Romans 12:10).

Prayer Target
Let’s pray for an increased desire to receive and release honor to all those whom the Lord has placed in our life and family. Pray that we would truly grow in recognizing how important it is that we honor the work of God in each other, knowing that what we truly honor we will be better positioned to receive from. Father God, this is our desire today. Help us. Amen!

Honor: The Believer’s Way of Honor for God

Day 40 // May 25

“A life of prayer honors God. A life of praise honors God. And a life of service and sacrifice honors God.” E. M. Bounds

If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor(John 12:26).

Prayer Target
Let’s pray this prayer together:
Lord, we pray that You would help us to walk in a spirit of honor and humility towards You and others. We truly desire to serve You with our lives of service and sacrifice. And we know that we cannot do this without the help of the Holy Spirit. Today, we ask You to fill us freshly and newly with Your Spirit and strengthen us in the mighty and prevailing name of Jesus. Amen!

Honor: The Believer’s Place of Honor in God

Day 39 // May 24

“Honor is not a product of our works but God’s grace. Even true genuine honor is a work of God. Honor begins with God.” John Bevere

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved, and raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:4-6).

Prayer Target
Let’s pray this together:
Father, we pray that You would freshly reveal to us our role and responsibility in receiving and releasing all that You have provided to us to walk in daily, including giving genuine honor where honor is due. And help us position ourselves in the right place to receive all that You desire to reveal to us, Your people.

Honor: The Honor of Man from God

Day 38 // May 23

“If you be faithful, you will have that honor that comes from God: His Spirit will say in your hearts, ‘Well done, good and faithful servants.’” Adam Clarke

But one testified in a certain place, saying: “What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You take care of him?You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, and set him over the works of Your hands. You have put all things in subjection under his feet” (Hebrews 2:6-8).

Prayer Target
Let’s pray this together:
Father, we are so thankful for all Your promises. And we know that Your Word declares to us that if we honor You and others with our hearts and lives, You will in turn release honor and favor over us as well. We pray that You would help us to freshly cultivate a genuine culture and atmosphere of honor in our church, family, and relationships, since you have crowned man with glory and honor. This is our desire. Amen!
