When I think about kindness, I’m reminded of my mom. When I was a child, she would constantly remind my five siblings and me to be kind and considerate toward one another. Yet, it seemed like the most difficult thing to do. In Ephesians, Paul encourages us to live out kindness as evidence of the Spirit at work in our lives.

Kindness is goodness in action, doing what’s best for others even when they don’t deserve it, and beingpatient with those who are difficult. God’s kindness to us was planned and intentional. Jesus went the extra mile to lift us out of destruction, changing our lives. As I give Him free reign over my life, His presence and my openness bring about amazing opportunities for the fruit of kindness to become more evident in my life.

The Holy Spirit wants to help us be channels of God’s kindness by our actions to others. Let’s go the extra mile today and live out the kindness of the Lord to a world that desperately needs it be.

• Pray that we would yield to the Spirit’s work to develop His fruit in our lives.

• Pray that the fruit of kindness would be lived out in our relationships to bless and encourage others.

• Pray that the Lord will use this fruit to help us reach out to those who don’t know Him.
