Day 16 // May 1
“Humility, the place of entire dependence on God, is the first duty and the highest virtue of the creature, and the root of every virtue. And so pride, or the loss of this humility, is the root of every sin and evil.” Andrew Murray
“Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner” (John 5:19).
Let’s take some time today again to acknowledge that, if Jesus said He could do nothing of Himself but only what He saw the Father do, we need to do so all the more. In humility, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any pride or arrogance that you may be walking in. Then, as He shows you these areas, repent and ask God to give you a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within you.
