kids valentines_IGValentine’s Day has long been one of my favorite holidays. Even as a child, my dad included us in the family celebration by giving my sister and I flowers and small gifts. Now, as a parent myself, I love teaching my daughter about different holidays and their traditions, and we especially love celebrating by making crafts! Here are a few cute Valentine’s crafts that we’re going to try out this year!

Making Valentine’s has always been one of my favorite holiday traditions. These cute Yarn Heart Cards are a great, craftsy way to say “I love you” to friends, grandparents and neighbors.

I think this “love” painting is too cute! This mama’s heart is a sucker for anything with little handprints and footprints. We’re going to make this and include it as part of our February mantle decor.

This is another fun craft to give your home an extra dose of love for Valentine’s! It requires a bit more effort than the others, but the result is great!

While my son is only three months old and obviously doesn’t “get” special holidays yet, I already find myself traveling down memory lane as Valentine’s Day approaches. Memories of homemade “mailboxes” for Valentine’s Day and the excitement I had, sitting down and going through all of the Valentine cards I received in that mailbox, are so very special to me. While as a child, I loved any of the cards I received, my favorites to give and receive were always the homemade ones. Here are a few that I would be excited to make this year, either as my 8-year-old self OR to help my son, Charlie, make if he were older this year!

Star Wars is all the rage this year and these valentines are SO adorable! Plus, I love the fact that the trinket with them is something other than candy. What kid doesn’t like a glow stick?

This project isn’t labeled specifically as valentines, but it is so cute and could certainly be repurposed for Valentine’s cards. And again, like above, it’s a treat without being candy!

Lastly, these sweet hand cutout valentines are fast and don’t necessarily require a printer! And, you can add candy to these! 😉

This February celebrate the love of Christ as we give and receive love to others! Post a picture each day of the little things you do to love your friends and family or the things they do for you that make you feel loved on Facebook or Instagram! Let’s encourage each other to take advantage of each moment, little or big, to mirror the love of God.

Don’t forget to use the hashtag #loveinlittlethings!
